Shimano Spheros SW Spinning Reel
Shimano's Spheros spinning reel is an upgraded saltwater version of the first generation spheros. These spinning reels come in start in a 5000 size and go all the way up to a 20000. The components are built to handle tough fish! Manufactured with Shimano's "X-Ship" technology, these gears will stay in the same position under heavy loads. Shimano has also eliminated friction between the gears and the spool shaft which enhances casting performance allowing for longer casts. The "X-Shield" technology in this spinning reel adds seals and gaskets at key locations throughout the reel. This blocks the water intrusion and prevents corrosion caused by saltwater. Shimano has also utilized their cold forging technology in the Spheros to deliver the best protection of gears against abrasion and damage.
